Qualifications

• Equivalent to two years of college including introductory laboratory chemistry courses.
• Two years of experience as a technician in a chemical or biochemical laboratory.
• One year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Senior Laboratory Assistant; and education: completion of nine semester units or 12 quarter units of college level introductory courses in organic and inorganic quantitative chemistry.
• Two years of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Laboratory Assistant, Range B; and education: completion of nine semester units or 12 quarter units of college level introductory courses in organic and inorganic quantitative chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of collecting, preparing, and analyzing various water samples as required by regulations.
• Assist Water and Sewage Plant Supervisors in Plant Operations.
• Conduct Tailgate Safety meetings weekly.

Under direction of the Chief Engineer I, have knowledge of and experience in collecting, preparing, and analyzing various water samples as required by the California Regional Quality Board and those required to control operation practices for the water and wastewater treatment process. Math and writing skills are required to perform these duties. Assists the Water and Sewage Plant Supervisors in Plant Operations and conducts Tailgate Safety meetings weekly. Or II
