Job summary

Inova Health's OB Office is seeking a Laboratory Technician Assistant 2 PSC to join a day-shift team, working 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The role alternates between Inova OB locations in Merrifield (Fairfax) and Falls Church, VA.

The LTA 2 PSC will perform specimen collection, labeling, and processing, supporting patient care and compliance while delivering attentive service in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent with phlebotomy training.
• Experience: 1 year in a Patient Service Center or 6 months in an Inova PSC, or completion of Inova Phlebotomy School.
• Certification: Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepares, stores, and packages specimens per lab protocols, maintaining specimen integrity.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers, physicians, and office staff to optimize performance.
• Performs patient registration, billing, and test order procedures to ensure correct testing and regulatory compliance.
• Collects specimens properly and labels according to Inova policy.
• Delivers excellent patient and customer service using AIDET principles.
• Other duties as assigned.
