Henry County Health Department in McDonough, GA is seeking a Laboratory Technician 3 to perform routine analysis on lab samples and prepare specimens for daily transit. The role involves operating and maintaining lab equipment, assisting clinicians, and participating in emergency preparedness duties as required by the district.
Preferred candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with lab experience or the equivalent and may hold a phlebotomy or medical assistant certification.

Under broad supervision, performs routine analysis on lab samples. Conducts a full range of sample preparation. Performs routine to complex laboratory tests on samples. Operates and assists in maintaining lab equipment. Some positions may perform EKG's.
All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Distribution site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
High school diploma or GED AND Two (2) years of experience in a laboratory setting or a related area OR One (1) year of experience required at the lower-level Laboratory Tech 2 (LST031) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require licensure.
