Verdantas is seeking a Laboratory Technician I. This position will be located in our Wilmington, DE office.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily QA/QC procedures and laboratory testing in our construction materials laboratory (e.g., compressive strength testing for concrete, masonry, grout)
• Perform index and property testing in our geotechnical laboratory. Routine testing includes, but is not limited to, moisture content, % passing a 200/270 sieve, Standard/Modified proctor, particle size distribution (gradation and hydrometer), Atterberg limits, consolidation, and unconfined compression
• Perform routine calibrations for equipment in both the construction materials and geotechnical laboratories.
• Apply basic computer data templates, interpret test data, and prepare reports of test data
• Other testing and duties may be assigned
• Ability to work in a lab environment operating specialized testing equipment
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  
  

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• 1-2 years in Civil Engineering or lab testing, preferred
• Experience with ASTM, AASHTO, and local transportation authorities, preferred
• Strong math skills
• Willingness to work in an environment which may require getting dirty
• Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and operate hand-controlled testing equipment
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Must be able to pass the drug test and background check post offer
