Leidos is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Energy & Environmental Division’s onsite laboratory in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Shallow Land Disposal Area (SLDA) Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) project. The role requires the use of a variety of chemistry methods and instrumentation to support onsite environmental remediation work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform formal chain-of-custody sample receipt, verify sample information, and log samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Prepare soil samples and preserve, aliquot, and prepare water samples prior to analysis.
• Conduct sample digestions and chemical separations per SOP.
• Maintain a clean laboratory area by following decontamination procedures.
• Prepare reagents as needed for laboratory processes.
• Follow all radiation and chemical safety procedures.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma and 2 years laboratory experience or a bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry, or related sciences.
• Ability to review, compile, and provide data files to users.
• Experience in sample preparation and counting procedures on alpha, gamma, and gross alpha/beta samples.
• Experience performing isotopic chemical separation procedures.
• Prior laboratory experience is desired.
• Must be able to pass a Public Trust background investigation; U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency required.
• Must support on‑site work and pass a blood beryllium lymphocyte proliferation test (BeLPT) prior to starting at the customer site.

Pay: $28–35 per hour.
