Job summary

Kelly Science & Clinical in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join a leading scientific organization. The role offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $31–36 based on experience and a first shift schedule in a dynamic, collaborative team.

You will perform chemical and microbiological analyses, maintain precise lab records, and report findings while supporting formulation work and basic analytical tests. A strong safety mindset and SOP discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in chemistry or related field required.
• Experience in chemical laboratories and adherence to safety protocols.
• Follows SOPs and maintains detailed lab notes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Interest in supporting a small remote team and taking initiative.
• Experience with analytical techniques such as titrations, HPLC/GPC, UV, NMR, TGA, and standard tests.

Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $31-36 per hour, based on experience

What you'll be doing?

• Collaborating closely with project leaders to conduct experiments and research activities

• Performing chemical and/or microbiological analyses using a variety of techniques and instrumentation

• Reporting findings through written reports and presentations, maintaining accurate laboratory notebooks and records

• Conducting formulation work, application testing, and basic chemistry and analytical tests

• Packaging products for shipment to external labs for preclinical testing

Required Education & Experience:

• Associate degree in chemistry or a related scientific field (required); Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, polymer science, or related area preferred

• Bring experience working in chemical laboratories, adhering strictly to safety and hygiene protocols

• Are skilled in following SOPs, conducting routine laboratory processes, and maintaining detailed laboratory notes

• Are proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Are eager to support your team, learn new skills, and take initiative in a small, remote team setting

• Have experience or interest in analytical techniques such as titrations, HPLC/GPC (preferably with Agilent software), UV spectrometry, NMR, TGA, and standard chemical tests (e.g., pH, moisture content, chlorine titration)

• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
