Job summary

Extremity Care is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support development of new processing methods for human cells and tissue products. You will ensure accuracy and consistency of experiments, handling sensitive materials with high standards to advance research projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Bioengineering, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field required.
• 1 year of experience in a wet laboratory in a research or product development setting required.
• Experience in cell culture, animal tissue, or similar areas preferred.
• Clearance of favorable background investigation required.

Responsibilities

• Execute scientific protocols, including preparing samples, handling chemicals, and conducting assays, adhering to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of experimental data to support analysis and reporting.
• Uphold strict documentation practices to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
• Monitor experimental processes to ensure consistency and reliability in laboratory outcomes.
• Troubleshoot issues independently and seek guidance from senior staff when necessary to enhance problem-solving skills.
• Coordinate with research team members to ensure experiments are executed efficiently and communicate effectively within the lab environment.
• Prepare biological samples for testing, following specific protocols to ensure consistency.
• Conduct routine maintenance and operate laboratory equipment to support experimental processes.
• Follow laboratory safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Manage laboratory inventory by tracking supplies and placing orders as needed.
• Calibrate laboratory instruments with minimal supervision to ensure accurate measurements.
• Maintain knowledge of FDA 21 CFR 1271, FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO Standards, cGMP/CGTP, and related policies.
• Participate in training sessions to acquire new skills and stay updated on techniques and safety protocols.
• Support senior technicians and researchers in developing and refining experimental protocols.
• Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects and improve laboratory operations.
• Ensure attendance and punctuality for scheduled work hours and meetings.
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours to support operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Participate in the review of laboratory procedures to identify and implement operational improvements
• Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects, providing effective support and enhancing laboratory operations
• Maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality for scheduled work hours and meetings
• Ensure completion of assigned tasks and responsibilities within defined timeframes
• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours during weekdays or weekends with reasonable advance notice to support business/operational needs when necessary
