Job summary

RiseMe is seeking a Lab Technician to perform routine analytical tests and operate laboratory equipment with close supervision. You will calibrate instruments and prepare chemical solutions while ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of high-quality results.

The role requires a degree in chemistry or a related science and at least two years in a lab, with familiarity in ASTM standards and LIMS usage. Work is performed in a laboratory environment with safety and quality guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related science; 2+ years lab experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ASTM standards and their application in testing.
• Ability to work with chemicals, petrochemicals and related products.
• Ability to differentiate colors by sight.
• LIMS experience is a plus; MS Word/Excel/Access proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic analytical tests per standards and procedures set by Lab Manager.
• Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment.
• Calibrate instruments to ensure accurate analysis.
• Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment.
• Prepare chemical solutions using standard formulas.
• Record results on forms and in the LIMS system; write test reports.
• Read and understand analysis and safety standards in English (ASTM, UOP, IP).
• Adhere to Laboratory Manual, Safety Manual, and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Purpose

Lab Technicians perform routine laboratory tests under close supervision to determine chemical or physical characteristics of samples. Lab Technicians ensure that their duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform basic analytical tests based on standards and procedures as assigned by the Laboratory Manager.
• Assist and perform the setting up, adjusting and operating laboratory equipment.
• Calibrate laboratory instruments as needed to ensure that analysis is accurate according to the Quality Management systems.
• Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment.
• Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
• Records test results on standardized forms and writes test reports describing procedures used.
• Understand and complete laboratory raw data sheets and make accurate entries into LIMS data base.
• Ability to read and comprehend all analysis as well as safety standards in English, including ASTM, UOP, IP and other well-defined analytical standards and procedures used in the laboratory.
• Exercise procedural, safety and quality requirements specified in Laboratory Manual & Safety Manual and company policies.
• All other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related science preferred, or equivalent work experience; coupled with a minimum of one (2) year of direct transferable experience working in a laboratory.
• Knowledgeable in ASTM standards.
• Must be able to work with all chemical, petrochemical and petroleum products.
• Must be able to differentiate between colors accurately by sight.
• Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access preferred.
• Have a great work history with a track record of being responsible individual.
• Detailed orientated.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment.
