Job summary

Flourish Research in Orlando, FL is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support our onsite lab for clinical trials. This role includes phlebotomy, specimen processing, kit preparation, and inventory management.

Ideal candidates have active phlebotomy certification, familiarity with ICH/FDA/GCP, and strong organizational and communication skills. Onsite, M-F, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, non-exempt, hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Certified Phlebotomist (Active License).
• Familiar with phlebotomy in clinic or hospital settings.
• Experience with clinical research is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture for research subjects while maintaining license validity.
• Process laboratory specimens (centrifugation, pipetting, slides).
• Prepare lab kits and supplies for protocol collections.
• Track receipt of results and assist with filing.
• Manage inventory and re-order supplies; assist in purchasing equipment.

We are actively hiring a Laboratory Technician to supportour Orlando, FL site.
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Location: Onsite
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Compensation: Hourly based on experience ($22 - $25/hr)

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy/venipuncture duties for research subjects as needed (maintains valid and updated phlebotomy licensing)
• Processes laboratory specimens (centrifugation, pipetting, creating slides, etc.)
• Prepares lab kits and lab supplies for protocol required lab collections.
• Tracks receipt of laboratory results and assists with filing.
• Stocks lab supplies - unloads and organizes lab supplies in on-site lab supply storage room; maintains an inventory of lab supplies and re-orders when needed; assists in purchasing new equipment and supplies as needed
• Performs point of care laboratory testing such as HbA1C, glucose, hematocrit, dipstick urinalysis, pregnancy testing as required
• Tracks and maintains sample inventory logs for ambient and frozen specimens shipped to central lab(s)
• Maintains inventory of lab supplies and orders lab kits and lab supplies as needed.
• Participates in research related meetings and training as a member of the research team; assists in the development of detailed lab manual describing the biospecimen processing protocols.
• Maintains and updates IATA certification for proper packing and shipping of lab specimens for the clinical trials
• Responds to laboratory queries.
• Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• Certified Phlebotomist (Active License)
• IATA certification is preferred
• Experience performing phlebotomy with patients in a clinic or hospital setting
• Experience with clinical research is preferred but not required
• Familiar with e-source reporting via an electronic platform
• A clear understanding of ICH, FDA, and GCP regulations
• Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with the Principal Investigator, research team, Study Sponsor/CROs, potential subjects, and referral sources
• An ethical compass that compels the candidate to be honest, detail-oriented, and self-driven
• High-level critical thinking skills
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and lab collection/processing/storage procedures
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite
