Job summary

August Bioservices is hiring a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to support daily laboratory activities and maintain readiness of the lab. You will perform routine testing, document results, and ensure adherence to cGMP requirements.

The role requires lab experience, the ability to wear appropriate PPE, and strong attention to detail. A high school diploma or an associate degree is required, with a bachelor's preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Work or academic experience in a laboratory setting required.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to wear all appropriate PPE correctly during handling of hazardous substances.

Responsibilities

  • Hazardous waste disposal
  • Clean and store glassware
  • Daily equipment calibrations
  • Inventory checks
  • Prepare simple solutions
  • Perform physical testing of finished products or raw materials (appearance, pH, density)
  • Document all required information concisely per cGMP requirements
  • Communicate clearly to leadership
  • Support sample submission receipts
  • Maintain current training in the Quality Management System (QMS) with no overdue tasks
  • Operate under safety requirements at all times, including PPE use and adherence to policies when handling hazardous substances
  • Support cross‑functional work with direct and indirect coworkers
  • Prolonged sitting/work at a computer as part of daily routine
  • Stand extended periods at a lab bench, cleanroom or stability chamber as required
  • Accurately measure volumes in volumetric apparatus (e.g., read meniscus)
  • Lift, carry, push or pull loads up to 40 lbs occasionally and up to 30 lbs frequently; use two-person lift or mechanical assist for heavier loads

Quality Control Laboratory Technician

The Quality Control Laboratory Technician position maintains complete readiness of the laboratory by supporting daily functions of routine laboratory activities.

  • Perform physical testing of finished products or raw materials (appearance, pH, density)
  • Document all required information concisely per cGMP requirements

  • Maintain current training in the Quality Management System (QMS) with no overdue tasks
  • Operate under safety requirements at all times, including use of PPE and adherence to company policies when handling hazardous substances
  • Support cross‑functional work with direct and indirect coworkers
  • Support a prolonged period of sitting/work at computer as part of daily routine
  • Stand extended periods at a lab bench, cleanroom or stability chamber as required
  • Accurately measure and read volumes of solution in volumetric apparatus (e.g., read meniscus)
  • Lift, carry, push or pull regular loads up to 40 lbs occasionally and up to 30 lbs frequently. Use two‑person lift or mechanical assist device for loads exceeding 50 lbs
