Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or related field is acceptable.
  • Some college coursework in chemistry is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory safety, chemical handling, and records.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and work safely in a lab.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples and perform routine laboratory tests following procedures.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses and record data accurately.
  • Operate laboratory instruments and equipment for routine testing.
  • Assist senior technicians with equipment setup and procedures.
  • Perform routine safety checks and preventive maintenance on instruments.
  • Follow laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and chemical handling practices.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports.
  • Use Microsoft Office for data entry and reporting.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
  • Support other routine laboratory activities as assigned.

The Science Team at Pride Health is currently supporting a client in the materials Sciences Organization and has opening of Laboratory Technician in Monroeville, PA

Position Summary

Under direct supervision, the Laboratory Technician performs routine laboratory operations in a quality assurance or research environment. The role involves sample preparation, measurements, routine chemical analyses, laboratory equipment operation, data recording, and maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.

Additional Details

Pay range: $20-$23/hour on W2, based on experience

Contract Length: 12 Months with the possibility of extension

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare samples and perform routine laboratory tests following established procedures and standard methods.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses and accurately record test results and experimental data.
  • Operate laboratory instruments and equipment used for routine testing and measurements.
  • Assist senior laboratory technicians with laboratory equipment setup and experimental procedures.
  • Perform routine safety checks and preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Follow established laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and chemical handling practices.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-5 years of laboratory experience; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field is acceptable.
  • Some college-level chemistry coursework is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory safety, chemical handling, and record keeping/reporting.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work safely in a laboratory environment.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Familiarity with routine quantitative and qualitative testing.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under direct supervision and as part of a laboratory team.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
