Job summary

Job description

The Laboratory Technician will support laboratory testing and quality-related activities, operate laboratory equipment, document and analyze results, and ensure testing information is accurately recorded.

This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and comfortable working independently while following established laboratory processes and procedures.

• Perform laboratory testing using a variety of laboratory equipment and instruments
• Prepare, handle, and test samples according to established procedures
• Record laboratory test results accurately and maintain appropriate documentation
• Analyze testing data and identify potential discrepancies or unusual results
• Support quality-related testing and laboratory activities
• Work with physical-property testing equipment such as viscometers, softening point equipment, or similar laboratory instruments
• Enter and/or post formulas and laboratory-related information into SAP
• Follow established laboratory procedures, safety requirements, and documentation practices
• Maintain accurate records of testing activities and results
• Troubleshoot or report issues involving laboratory equipment or testing processes
• Manage daily laboratory activities with limited supervision
• Communicate testing information and results clearly to appropriate team members
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail throughout testing and documentation

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of laboratory and/or quality experience
• Hands-on experience working with laboratory equipment and performing testing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to properly document laboratory results and activities
• Ability to follow established procedures and testing methods
• Ability to work independently and self-direct daily work and processes
• Comfortable working in an onsite laboratory environment
• Ability to work an early 1st-shift schedule, with start time between 5:00 AM and 8:00 AM

Experience with any of the following would be highly valuable:

• Viscometer / viscosity testing
• Physical-property testing
• Quality control / quality assurance laboratory work
• Industrial, chemical, manufacturing, or materials laboratory experience
• SAP data entry or formula posting
• Laboratory data analysis and documentation
• Equipment calibration, maintenance, or troubleshooting
• Working independently in a production or laboratory environment
