Laboratory Technician

We are looking for a motivated Laboratory Technician to support our gene editing technology development pipeline through plant transformation and tissue culture activities. This role involves assisting technical personnel with routine laboratory operations, data collection, and information management in support of scientific research. The successful candidate will maintain accurate records and organized workflows, and contribute to a safe and productive laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist technical personnel with routine laboratory operations.
• Collect and manage data in support of scientific research.
• Perform tasks according to established methods, standard operating procedures, and training provided by the work group.
• Identify and resolve problems proactively.
• Execute tasks efficiently and contribute to a collaborative lab environment.

Essential Skills

• Laboratory skills in chemistry, biology, molecular biology, microbiology, and biochemistry.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Plant Sciences, or a related field.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and scientific principles.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in laboratory tasks.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and execution skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Positive attitude with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Experience with plant tissue culture and transformation methods in an industry setting preferred.
• Experience with light and fluorescent microscopy preferred.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. The role is hands‑on, requiring strong attention to detail in a laboratory setting.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
