Job summary

IFF is a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences. As a Laboratory Quality Control Technician in Hazlet, NJ, you will perform standardized tests for QA, research, and development of products, formulations, and applications.

You will operate analytical instrumentation, load samples for GC, density, refractive index, and CM-5 color, and enter results into SAP and other databases.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a Quality Technician role, preferably in fragrance, flavors or aroma chemical industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Science or a similar degree is preferred.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, customer focus, excellent communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform standardized laboratory tests used in quality assurance, research, and development of products.
• Load samples for GC, density, refractive index, and CM-5 color analysis.
• Enter results into SAP, PLM, Perfumer data base, and IFFMAN databases and ensure timely approvals.
• Interface with chemists, evaluators, and QC teams to report results and address issues.
• Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation as part of daily QC activities.

As a Laboratory Quality Control Technician, you will perform a variety of standardized laboratory tests used in the quality assurance, research, and development of products, formulations, and applications. This position is located in HAZLET, NJ - USA and is Day Shift.

Where You’ll Make a Difference

• It’s an exciting time to be part of IFF’S Fragrance Quality Control team. In this position
• You will be supporting the fragrance operation team which provides fragrance compounding products for the external market.
• Contribute to the team’s success via: Addressing quality related issues brought to by production, sample lab, inventory, planning, our own QC team, sales and creative centers, etc.
• You will work with production, inventory, supply chain, and our Quality Technicians colleagues and will be responsible for day to day operation and maintenance of all analytical instrumentation.
• Performing all common ( routine and non-routine) chemical, physical and instrumental analyzes on quality and service analysis for samples coming from supply chain areas, in order to contribute in the resolution of complaints and production problems respectively. Loading samples to run Gas Chromatography test , Density, Refractive index and CM-5 color, extraction oil for Polyiff samples and GC profile review for Polyiff reports
  • Analyzing samples for quality control in accordance with regulations and analyzing serving complaints according wishes of the client, perform manual analytical testing for batches with failures in the Ismatec Instrument.

  • Perform Data entry into various databases, reporting results and tracking (SAP, PLM, Perfumer data base & IFFMAN). Ensure timely approval of materials in analytical and GC for all IFF technologies. Interfacing with chemists, evaluators, corporate QC on special testing and reporting results as required.

What Makes You the Right Fi t

• 1 year of experience in a Quality Technician role , preferably in a fragrance, Flavors or aroma chemical industry.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Science or a similar degree is preferred.
• You will need to demonstrate attention to detail, customer focus, excellent communication and problem solving skills.
