Job summary

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, and health & biosciences, invites applications for a quality-focused laboratory role in Madison, Wisconsin. You will perform routine testing, document results in SAP Quality Management, and help ensure GMP, ISO22000, and GLP compliance.

The ideal candidate has a science degree and knowledge of QC methods, with the ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or related field (or assoc. degree with 1+ year lab exp).
• Knowledge of analytical methods and QC testing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong math and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to comply with lab safety standards and PPE.
• Comfortable spending 95–100% of time in a lab and overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing with accurate documentation in SAP QM.
• Calibrate, maintain and use laboratory equipment per SOPs.
• Apply GMP, ISO22000, and GLP guidelines for product testing.
• Conduct environmental sampling and ensure a clean, safe lab.
• Support cross‑functional quality initiatives as needed.

Where You’ll Make a Difference

Adhere to all quality systems, including ISO22000 (Food Safety Management), NSF (National Sanitation Foundation), and GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) guidelines, while following IFF’s Quality Policy and procedures. Perform routine laboratory testing with accurate and timely documentation of all results in the SAP Quality Management module. Reference and utilize laboratory standards, materials, and documentation to support correct execution of testing procedures. Follow departmental procedures to properly calibrate, maintain, and use laboratory equipment. Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for proper care, handling, and storage of food and dietary supplement products. Conduct environmental sampling following established protocols. Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment by following and enforcing all laboratory safety procedures. Collaborate effectively within the team and support cross‑functional quality initiatives as needed.

What Makes You the Right Fit

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific field — or an associate degree with at least one year of relevant laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of analytical methods and testing performed within the Quality Control (QC) department.
• Ability to work independently and as a contributing member of a team.
• Strong mathematical skills and clear written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to comply with laboratory safety standards, including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Comfortable working 95–100% of the time in a laboratory setting.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
