Job summary

Planet Pharma is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support product monitoring and technical studies. You will perform TPA, pH, solids, water activity, and colorimeter testing, prepare samples, calibrate instruments, and document results.

You will communicate testing status to the Technical Services team and assist with weekly and ongoing studies, while maintaining lab readiness and accurate records. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree preferred; equivalent

Qualifications

  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant laboratory experience may be considered.

  • Support ongoing studies (Extended Cure Study, Oiling Study, Weekly Study, and Bulk Hold Study).

Job description

Pay range: 20-36/hr *depending on experience


II. Specific Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

The Technical Services Laboratory Technician will perform TPA, pH, solids, water activity, and colorimeter testing to support product monitoring, technical studies, and data-driven decision making. The technician will prepare samples, calibrate instruments, execute test methods, document results, maintain laboratory readiness, and communicate testing status to the Technical Services team. Current (and ongoing additions weekly) Extended Cure Study, Oiling Study, Weekly Study, and Bulk Hold Study.



  • TPA includes calibration for position and force.

  • pH Includes calibration.

  • Solids Testing includes Brix standard reading.

  • aW Testing includes standard reading.

  • Colorimeter testing includes instrument calibration for white and black points.


III. Essential Skills and Experience:

Education & Experience: (Minimum required to perform job)


  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Laboratory Technology, or a related scientific field preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant laboratory experience may be considered.


Knowledge/Skills Requirements: (List of unique knowledge skills, or problem-solving requirements)


  • Experience or ability to perform routine laboratory testing, sample preparation, and analytical data documentation.

  • Ability to follow established procedures, execute calibrated instrument testing, and maintain accurate records.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize multiple samples, test requests, and aging time points.

  • Effective communication skills for providing testing updates, follow-up, and documentation support.

  • Ability to work independently while supporting changing priorities in a technical services laboratory environment.
