What you'll do
- Manage and execute system-level testing and validation of liquid cooling technologies in both laboratory and rack-scale environments, ensuring that all systems meet performance and reliability standards.
- Construct, configure, and operate intricate test systems, including fluid loops, sensors, instrumentation, and data acquisition platforms, to simulate real-world data center conditions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, modify, and improve experimental setups, ensuring that testing protocols are aligned with project goals and safety standards.
- Implement and adapt test plans, procedures, and protocols in a dynamic research environment, maintaining flexibility to accommodate iterative development cycles.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across mechanical, thermal, and fluid systems, identifying root causes of failures or performance deviations to support rapid resolution.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from tests to identify performance trends, anomalies, and areas for system improvement, preparing detailed reports for engineering review.
- Support automation efforts by scripting and integrating control systems to streamline testing processes, improve data collection accuracy, and reduce manual intervention.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of test procedures, configurations, and results to ensure data integrity, repeatability, and compliance with quality standards.
- Uphold safety standards and operational protocols during all testing activities, including proper handling of refrigerants and hazardous materials.
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, sensors, and instrumentation to ensure consistent and accurate measurements.
- Participate in team meetings, providing technical insights and feedback to improve testing methodologies and product development strategies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance test efficiency, automation, and safety procedures.
Requirements
- An associate degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Thermal Systems, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience working in engineering laboratories, research and development environments, or hardware validation settings.
- Proven experience with thermal, fluid, mechanical, or HVAC systems, including system setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues across mechanical, thermal, and fluid domains.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple test setups and documentation tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and clearly document test procedures and results.
- Proficiency in managing complex lab environments, including the setup and operation of fluid loops, sensors, and data acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with refrigerant handling, instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition hardware/software.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system diagrams.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to handling refrigerants, electrical systems, and laboratory hazards.
- Willingness to work in a hands‑on role, with physical ability to handle equipment and materials in a laboratory setting.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with liquid cooling technologies such as immersion cooling, direct-to-chip (DTC) systems, or similar high-performance cooling methods.
- Experience working with data center infrastructure, high-performance computing environments, or related hardware.
- Knowledge of test automation, scripting languages, or control systems to enhance testing efficiency.
- Background in rapid product development cycles, including iterative testing and prototyping.
- Understanding of environmental safety standards and compliance related to refrigerants and cooling systems.
- Exposure to high-density server environments or infrastructure integration.
Skills & tools
- Data acquisition systems (DAQ), such as LabVIEW, PLC-based controls, or similar platforms.
- System-level debugging skills for fluid, thermal, and mechanical systems.
- Experience setting up and managing rack-level test environments that simulate real-world data center conditions.
- Ability to integrate cooling systems with broader infrastructure environments, including electrical and control systems.
- Mechanical assembly skills for constructing and modifying test setups.
- Familiarity with calibration procedures for sensors and instrumentation.
- Basic scripting or automation skills to support test process improvements.

- Valid passport and driver's license required for travel and commuting purposes.

Compensation
Compensation $75,000 - $110,000 base salary plus performance bonus.
