Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician/Phlebotomist at Lake West Medical Center for a part-time day shift. The role includes specimen procurement, processing, data entry, and phlebotomy with attention to PHI and safety policies.

Position is 20 hours per week, with a 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM day shift. Entry-level friendly; CPT certification preferred upon hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Formal phlebotomy training preferred (accredited program).
• Less than 1 year entry-level experience preferred.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification preferred upon hire.

Laboratory Support Technician/Phlebotomist Lake West Part Time Day Shift - ( 260008HT )

• Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens. Provides laboratory support functions.
• Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
• Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy
• Processes specimens for laboratory testing.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
• Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
• Part time 20 hours per week.
• This is the day shift: 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

This position is for Lake West Medical Center.

Sign-on Bonus:

This position is eligible for a$1000 sign-on bonusto eligible candidates. Eligible candidates must be newly hired to UH.

University Hospitals is offering a$1,000 sign on bonus,minus applicable taxes, for designated regular Phlebotomy positions.

Internal Applicants are not eligible for the sign on bonus.

• High School Equivalent / GED required and
• Other Accredited Program: Formal Training from an accredited phlebotomy school or medical assistant program Preferred.
