UnityPoint Health in Des Moines is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician (LST). You will process specimens for testing, verify acceptability, and enter patient/test data into the system, serving in the lab's main communications center.
You will monitor test requests, respond to information requests from customers, and contribute to patient care by accurate, timely specimen processing and information dispersal within and outside the laboratory.

The Laboratory Support Technician (LST) processes laboratory specimens for testing, evaluates specimen acceptability, enters patient and test information into the computer, and responds to requests for information from customers. This position serves in the Laboratory's main communication and customer relations center. The employee monitors test requests in the order/entry system. This position contributes directly to patient care by accurately and timely processing specimens and dispersing information both in and outside the Laboratory.
High school diploma or equivalent. Phlebotomy experience required. Training as a unit clerk, medical assistant, medical secretary is preferred. Coursework in biology and/or chemistry is considered.Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English
