Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician to provide basic support for laboratory functions, including equipment operation, inventory management, and processing of biospecimens.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; experience may substitute for education on an equivalent basis.
  • Knowledge of biology, chemistry, math, documentation, and records management. Strong writing and data utilization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean, organized lab spaces and prep materials for research processing.
  • Operate basic lab equipment such as centrifuges, scales, and pipettes.
  • Assist with inventory and organization of lab supplies and equipment for research visits.
  • Label, retrieve, and transport samples per protocol; maintain detailed records of specimens and shipments.
  • Assist with basic sample processing procedures and data documentation.
  • Attend meetings with department managers and staff to review protocol needs.
  • Greet patients at front desk and perform related tasks.
