Laboratory Supervisor

Location: Corpus Christi, TX. This position reports to the Quality Manager. The Laboratory Supervisor leads day-to-day laboratory operations in support of manufacturing, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and reliability. The supervisor provides direct supervision to shift and day laboratory technicians, ensures compliance with laboratory and safety procedures, and upholds expectations for housekeeping, attendance, and operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure laboratory compliance with ISO9001:2015, IATF16949, and site safety management policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with EPA AIM Act including maintenance of AHRI Refrigerant Testing Laboratory certification and coordination of AIM sample testing.
  • Partner with Operations, Technology, and Maintenance to prioritize work, coordinate sampling plans, align staffing, and drive improvement.
  • Lead a team in a 24/7 manufacturing environment by setting clear expectations, coaching performance, and reinforcing strong operational discipline.
  • Respond to and elevate personnel, laboratory, safety, and quality incidents in accordance with site requirements.
  • Operate the laboratory safely and in an environmentally responsible manner while supporting quality, cost, and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues using structured problem‑solving methods.
  • Oversee laboratory activities including troubleshooting, test method management, instrument calibration, and method/equipment validation (including MSA).
  • Manage lab projects end-to-end (prioritize work, assign tasks, track progress, and meet timeline/quality goals).
  • Review calibration and preventive maintenance records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Complete administrative leadership tasks such as time entry/approval, overtime and vacation approvals, and schedule/coverage management.
  • Manage Laboratory specific software including LIMS, SAP, and Instrument Processing software.
  • Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing Practices including Daily Management, Leader Standard Works, 6S, Kaizen, A3 problem solving, and implement and utilize other Lean Manufacturing tools in the laboratory.
  • Assist in Research and Development experimentation at the site level to help troubleshoot systems or implement new methodologies within the laboratory.
  • Ensure Management Of Change compliance for lab process, method, equipment, and chemical changes (approvals, training, risk assessment, and documentation).
  • Lead internal quality audits (plan, assess compliance, document findings, and drive CAPA).
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a science field plus a minimum of 5 years in a production environment, or a minimum of 10 years of experience in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety management systems; flexibility to serve as first call for a 24/7 operation.
  • Ability to assess performance and coach individuals and teams to improve results.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior people‑leadership experience (or demonstrated experience providing day-to-day supervision).
  • Working knowledge of a Laboratory Information Management System (e.g., LIMS/Sample Manager).
  • Working knowledge of a Quality Management System (e.g., ETQ/Reliance).
  • Working knowledge of an ERP system (e.g., SAP).
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing including but not limited to Daily Management, Leader Standard Works, 6S, Kaizen, and A3 problem solving.

Pay Range (in local currency): $102,735.00 - $160,524.00. Chemours Level: 25. Annual Bonus Target: 8%.
