IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. in North Grafton, MA is seeking a Laboratory Specimen Processor to receive, prepare, and accession veterinary samples for laboratory analysis. You will enter data, rack and bundle samples for delivery, and support Turn Around Times in a fast-paced lab.

This full-time role offers day-one benefits, extensive training, and a rotating 11:30pm–8:00am shift with enhanced pay on the third shift, plus a comprehensive benefits package and career advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Job description

As a Laboratory Specimen Processor at IDEXX, you will help to sort, tag, and prepare the samples for testing. The samples that we work with are blood, urine, fecal samples, and biopsies that we receive from the vet clinics (no animals on-site!) Every sample you help to move along quickly and accurately in the process means we are one step closer to finding out how or why they might be sick. Thanks to you, someone's very beloved pet will get the treatment plan they need - how great is that?

What you'll be doing as a Laboratory Specimen Processor:

• You will receive, prepare, and accession veterinary samples (blood, urine, feces, and biopsies) for laboratory analysis and testing.

• You can expect to remove specimens from transport bags and enter specimen data into a computer tracking system.

• You will rack and bundle prepared samples for delivery to each testing department.

• You will assist other lab personnel with specimen storage and ensuring that Turn Around Times (TAT's) are met.

What you'll need to succeed:

• You possess a High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required

• You are someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment

• Experience working during 3rd Shift hours

• You have a positive attitude and love to bring that energy into the lab every day to support your colleagues

• You are looking forward to working in a team

• Youare able toread, understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures.

• You concentrate on the details and can work reliably and precisely

• You have a great sense of team spirit and responsibility

• Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab - standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability - close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

• This is a laboratory, so there is potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals

• Hourly rates targeting: $ 23 / hr

• Hours worked during the 3rd Shift will be eligible for an additional $3 / hr

Schedule:

• This is a full time, 40/hr per week position

• The schedule for this position is: MONDAY - FRIDAY with Rotating Saturday shifts

• The hours for this position are: 11:30pm - 8:00am

• The shifts and hours may vary slightly depending on business needs.

• Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position.
