Job summary

KMRG, LLC is seeking a Laboratory Services Technician to provide on-site laboratory support for the FDA's San Francisco Human and Animal Food Laboratory. You will prepare media and solutions, sterilize materials, assist with sample preparation, wash glassware, and maintain clean work areas in a structured lab environment.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least 6 months in a related setting, along with the ability to follow procedures, maintain records, and work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of experience in a laboratory, industrial, custodial, manufacturing, food-processing, or similarly structured work environment.
• Ability to follow written procedures, safety protocols, and detailed instructions.
• Basic familiarity with cleaning, sanitizing, or handling laboratory glassware.
• Ability to use simple measuring, monitoring, or recording tools.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required checklists.
• Ability to work independently after receiving required training.
• Ability to communicate problems, unsafe conditions, and unusual findings promptly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare media, solutions, reagents, and standards per procedures.
• Weigh, measure, mix, and prepare laboratory materials.
• Sterilize and handle laboratory equipment and waste per SOPs.
• Support sample preparation and handling of various sample types.
• Wash laboratory glassware and maintain clean, organized work areas.
• Record sterilization and equipment-use data accurately.
• Assist with temperature monitoring and quality-control documentation.
