Job summary

Catawba Valley Medical Center in North Carolina is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine and advanced laboratory tests, and to serve as a clinical resource for trainees, MLTs, and postgraduate physicians.

The position requires an associate degree from an accredited MLT program, and MLT (ASCP) certification or AMT equivalent to be completed within six months; no previous experience is required, and on-the-job training will bring you up to speed within three months.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program.
• MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent (AMT) must be completed within six months of employment date.
• Proficiency in all areas of the laboratory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field is preferred; MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) certification or equivalent (AMT) acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Performs variety of routine and advanced laboratory tests and procedures for use in diagnosis.
• Serves as clinical resource for trainees, MLTs, and postgraduate physicians.
