System One Clinical & Science in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Laboratory Sample Processing Technician for a 12‑month contract (40 hrs/week). You will coordinate sample intake and processing, focusing on accurate transcription into LIMS and proper labeling, storage and routing for downstream testing.

Key tasks include transcribing submissions into LIMS/Labware, validating sample matrices, organizing and shipping samples, prep and labeling steps, tool use for grinding, and strict PPE/quality procedures

• 2+ years of lab experience or relevant science degree.
• Comfort with multiple systems: Office, SAP, LIMS.
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand 5–6 hours daily.

Laboratory Sample Processing Technician

Position Overview

Support a high-volume commercial laboratory by coordinating sample intake and processing activities. This role focuses heavily on accurate transcription of sample information into LIMS and ensuring samples are prepared, labeled, stored, and routed correctly to support downstream testing accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately transcribe customer sample submission information into LIMS/Labware
• Validate sample matrix suitability for requested test methods
• Organize, deliver, store, and dispose of samples per guidelines
• Perform sample processing steps (prep, aliquoting, labeling, storage)
• Use grinding and comminution tools (blenders/grinders; may include liquid nitrogen workflows)
• Document preparation techniques and handling steps in LIMS
• Process third-party lab submission requests, including shipment preparation
• Hand-wash sample prep equipment and complete scheduled cleaning tasks
• Follow lab safety and quality procedures (PPE, GMP, OSHA, ISO)

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years lab experience or Associate’s in a science-related field or Bachelor’s in a science-related field
• Comfortable working across multiple systems (Microsoft Office, SAP, LIMS)
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand 5-6 hours/day
• Ability to perform tasks while wearing PPE (face shield, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, lab coat, cryogenic gloves)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior food lab experience
• Comfort working in a changing, high-volume lab environment
