Opportunity Overview

Accountable for all sales activities, from lead generation through close within an assigned territory. Develops and implements an Operating Plan to meet personal and business goals, expanding customer sales in the designated geography. Collaborates with sales and support teams to achieve customer satisfaction, revenue, and long-term account objectives aligned with company strategy.

Avantor seeks a dedicated, high-energy Sales Representative for our local Laboratory Sales efforts. This full-time role is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, offering the chance to sell Avantor's extensive product and service portfolio to diverse clients. If you are passionate about science and enjoy engaging with professionals as clients and peers, we want to hear from you!

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in sciences or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a complex, solution-based sales environment involving multiple decision-makers.
  • Preferred experience in B2B sales, distribution, scientific fields, or laboratory/research settings.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to engage with business owners and decision-makers confidently.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage time, and territory effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic sales skills.
  • Understanding of customer operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing.
  • Willingness to travel at least 3 days per week; occasional travel to the U.S. for conferences and training.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse territory, providing solutions and sales strategies to maximize revenue and profit.
  • Identify and develop new customers through prospecting and proposals.
  • Grow existing accounts by developing retention strategies and demonstrating value.
  • Engage in consultative selling by assessing customer needs and recommending solutions.

  • Leverage resources to implement marketing and sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with management and manufacturer reps to enhance product knowledge and profitability.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
