Base pay range

$94,250.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr

The Laboratory Products Sales Representative will be responsible for account management and sales growth in an assigned territory. The sales portfolio includes scientific laboratory supplies, equipment, chemicals, and safety items used across various sectors such as environmental, industrial, government, pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, and medical research facilities.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Communicating daily with customers via phone, email, and face-to-face to solicit orders, acquire new accounts, and expand business.
  2. Meeting sales and gross profit goals for the territory.
  3. Identifying customer goals and problems, providing tailored solutions.
  4. Generating lists of prospective customers from various sources for sales leads.
  5. Managing review and completion of RFP/RFQ bid opportunities.
  6. Studying data on new products to develop effective sales approaches.
  7. Analyzing customer preferences for supplies, equipment, and chemicals.
  8. Advising customers on products suited to their needs based on technical knowledge.
  9. Demonstrating products using samples or catalogs, emphasizing features.
  10. Quoting prices and credit terms, and preparing sales contracts.
  11. Resolving delivery issues with customers.
  12. Preparing transaction reports and managing expense accounts.
  13. Using SalesForce.com daily for data entry and opportunity tracking.
  14. Providing weekly territory status reports.
  15. Maintaining minimum call volumes daily.
  16. Developing and updating business plans.
  17. Presenting quarterly results and activities.
  18. Collaborating regularly with manufacturing representatives.
  19. Attending trade shows and traveling within the territory to meet clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university.
  • 3-5 years of sales experience, with preferred experience in the relevant market.
  • Proficiency with computer software, business tools, and office equipment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret business and technical information, and apply mathematical concepts.
  • Good human relations skills.
Additional Information:
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, lift up to 25 pounds, and drive.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work closely with others.
