Sunrise Medical Laboratories, Inc. in Lima, Ohio invites applications for a part-time Laboratory Assistant on a 2nd shift (4:30pm–8:30pm), Monday through Friday. The role supports specimen handling, labeling, data entry, and courteous service to physicians and patients while upholding the company’s values and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens through proper handling protocols to ensure the viable specimens, as well as accurate clinical results.
• Utilizes standard procedures to identify the patient, label, record all test tubes, log procedures, and enter specimen data into the computer system.
• Responds quickly, courteously, and professionally toward, clients, and co-workers to provide exceptional customer service and adhere to the Company’s values and business practices.
• Handles administrative duties to receive, identify, accession, and process specimens using established protocols to facilitate timely and accurate test performance.
• Prepares specimens for transportation, including labeling vials accurately and matching blood specimens to patients.
• Understands laboratory requisitioning for appropriate billing documentation.
• Keeps work area clean and maintains adequate laboratory supplies.
• Maintains compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and laboratory safety practices.
• Utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) and follows all safety and standard protection guidelines.
• Answer phones
• Give results to Physician offices
