Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee scientific and administrative activities of one or more laboratories. You will collaborate with Principal Investigators to ensure regulatory compliance and drive project success.

Responsibilities include coordinating projects, supervising data collection, staff development, managing facilities, and approving major expenditures in collaboration with PIs and finance staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years related laboratory experience.
  • Education/experience substitution per policy allowed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, conduct, and manage research projects.
  • Coordinate own objectives and those of laboratory team members.
  • Supervise data collection and verification using related specialized skills and knowledge.
  • Manage staff including training, oversight, hiring, and performance management.
  • Serve as a resource for all faculty, learners, and staff in the laboratory.
  • Oversee facility-related issues and project management, e.g., renovations, equipment purchases, costs.
