Job summary

FM, a leading mutual insurance company, seeks the FM Approvals Group Manager – Laboratory Operations to lead lab teams and oversee testing, certification, and risk-service support. You will drive safety, efficiency, and technical integrity across laboratories and coordinate with stakeholders.

Ideal candidates hold an advanced engineering degree (MBAs are a plus) and 7+ years of management in a lab or similar technical setting.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in engineering or another relevant technical discipline preferred.
• A master’s degree with at least 10 years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with at least 12 years of related experience.
• An MBA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead laboratory operations to deliver reliable loss-prevention product testing and certification services.
• Coordinate and prioritize FM Approvals testing across laboratories and facilities.
• Provide technical leadership and stay current with standards, equipment, and data analysis.
• Manage budgets, resources, and capital initiatives for the laboratory.
