Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Erie, PA seeks an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead the laboratory team, oversee operations, quality assurance and safety, and drive continuous improvement. The role requires strong supervisory experience and expertise in clinical lab processes to ensure high-quality patient testing services.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight (8) years laboratory experience with at least four (4) years direct supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and laboratory safety requirements; quality control procedures.
• Experience planning, budgeting and coordinating laboratory operations and staffing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign and direct work in the laboratory and liaise with other areas as needed.
• Mentor and support direct reports and provide supervisory training.
• Define, coordinate and monitor quality assurance programs and supervise the Quality Coordinator/Representative.
• Oversee staffing, hiring, training and staff development.
• Identify future staffing, equipment, and facility needs and procure as needed.
• Review test performance and drive process improvements; manage reports and databases.
• Coordinate R&D activities related to operations and participate in committees.
• Develop annual budget and manage department costs and resources to meet budget.
• Coordinate safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and prepare for inspections.
• Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional state.
