Job summary

105 Unity Hospital of Rochester is seeking a Supervisor of Laboratory Operations to oversee day-to-day chemistry laboratory activities, ensure accurate patient results, and supervise technologists and support staff.

Responsibilities include staffing, QA/QC/QA monitors, regulatory compliance, equipment upkeep, and collaboration with the Department Manager and Physician Director. Bench work as needed and teaching in the Medical Laboratory Science Program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Technologist.
• NYS Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• ASCP MT certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day activities of the Laboratory Section and manage staff scheduling and workflow.
• Ensure department procedures and instruments conform to good laboratory practice and regulatory standards.
• Maintain QA/QC/PI monitors with Department Manager and Physician Director; oversee staff performance and training.
• Perform bench work as needed and participate in teaching in the Medical Laboratory Science Program.
