Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological or physical sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ASCP registration or equivalent (AMT/HEW/HHS) may be required to meet accreditation; if not required, one additional year of technical experience is added.
• Three years of technical laboratory experience in a hospital or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise or instruct technical support personnel in performing research or diagnostic tests.
• Coordinate quality control procedures including record keeping and scheduling.
• Supervise maintenance of laboratory equipment, supplies, and safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Troubleshoot routine and specialized laboratory equipment and perform required maintenance.
• Perform highly specialized procedures and supervise routine tests as staffing requires.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for the laboratory.

Education
