Job summary

University Health in Selma, TX is seeking a diligent Laboratory Clerk to support daily laboratory functions, perform clerical tasks, and ensure accurate record keeping of patient samples.

You will assist with receipt and logging of specimens from UH, research, and referral labs, coordinate supplies from outside vendors and the hospital storeroom, and help maintain orderly documentation and filing. Attention to detail and familiarity with hospital procedures are important for success.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Associates degree in business, public relations, clinical laboratory science or related field is preferred.
• Two years of clinical laboratory experience or related field is required.
• Six months to one year in general clerical work including familiarity with hospital procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• File, track, retrieve and maintain patient sample records.
• Coordinate receipt, storage and distribution of supplies from outside vendors and storeroom.
• Assist in receipt and logging of specimens delivered to the Laboratory from UH, research, and referral lab clients.
