ARMStaffing seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist for a night-shift contract in Pontiac, Michigan. You will perform clinical tests, provide data for diagnoses, and uphold accreditation and quality-control standards in a fast-paced lab environment.

A minimum of 2 years MLS experience and blood bank experience are required, along with ASCP certification. The 13-week assignment runs 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM, four 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, with emphasis on safety and specimen integrity.

Responsabilités

• Determine normal and abnormal components of body fluids through chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
• Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques.
• Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by conducting blood group, type, and compatibility tests.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, including analyzers and spectrophotometers.
• Maintain laboratory supplies inventory and conserve resources by appropriately utilizing equipment and supplies.
• Provide medical technology information and prepare reports summarizing findings.
• Recognize issues, identify causes, and implement appropriate solutions.
• Adhere to infection control, hazardous waste policies, and quality assurance standards.
• Participate in professional education and maintain technical knowledge.
