The role includes preparing teaching lab materials, maintaining safe labs, supervising student workers, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations across Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, and related disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field.
• Appropriate laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Preparing lab materials.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Supervising student workers.
• Working collaboratively with faculty to understand their needs.
• Keeping inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
• Maintaining financial records.
• Handling chemical waste management and disposal of waste.
• Keeping a database for chemical safety data sheets.
• Training students, faculty, adjuncts, and staff in proper use of materials.
• Managing safety checks and safety records.
• Keeping current on regulations and requirements related to the management of chemicals and safety issues.
