InfiCare Staffing is seeking a Lab Operations Manager to oversee semiconductor lab operations across Santa Clara and other locations, ensuring reliable access to infrastructure and testing environments.

The role emphasizes establishing governance, optimizing assets, and driving continuous improvement, with leadership responsibilities for engineers, technicians, and support staff in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of semiconductor engineering labs across multiple locations.
• Ensure uninterrupted availability of lab infrastructure, test environments, validation systems, and engineering assets.
• Develop and implement lab operational standards, governance processes, and best practices.
• Establish SLAs and KPIs for lab services and support functions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance lab efficiency and utilization.

Job description

• Manage day-to-day operations of semiconductor engineering labs across multiple locations.
• Ensure uninterrupted availability of lab infrastructure, test environments, validation systems, and engineering assets.
• Develop and implement lab operational standards, governance processes, and best practices.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance lab efficiency and utilization.

Equipment & Asset Management

• Manage lifecycle of lab equipment including:
• Logic analyzers
• Spectrum analyzers
• Signal generators
• Power measurement equipment
• Thermal chambers
• FPGA platforms
• Servers and storage systems
• Maintain accurate inventory and asset tracking systems.
• Oversee procurement, deployment, maintenance, calibration, and decommissioning of equipment.
• Coordinate equipment audits and inventory reconciliation.
• Manage physical and virtual lab environments supporting:
• AI/ML hardware testing
• Storage and networking products
• Support lab network architecture, VLAN segmentation, remote access, and secure connectivity.
• Ensure proper power, cooling, rack management, cabling, and environmental monitoring.
• Partner with engineering teams to understand project requirements.
• Coordinate rack-and-stack activities and infrastructure provisioning.
• Support test bed setup, hardware refreshes, and lab expansion activities.
• Facilitate rapid deployment of engineering environments.

Security & Compliance

• Enforce physical and logical security controls.
• Manage lab access control systems and visitor management processes.
• Ensure compliance with:
• ITAR (if applicable)
• ISO 27001
• SOC standards
• Corporate Information Security Policies
• Support audits and compliance assessments.
• Manage third-party lab service providers and OEM relationships.
• Negotiate support contracts and maintenance agreements.
• Track budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditures.
• Optimize operational costs while maintaining service quality.
• Lead and mentor lab engineers, technicians, and support staff.
• Define resource planning and staffing strategies.
• Conduct performance reviews and career development initiatives.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.
