Job Description:

We’re seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead operations at a high-volume analytical lab that supports agricultural and environmental testing. This role oversees day-to-day laboratory management, including staff leadership, workflow efficiency, process optimization, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong people and operational management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to laboratory staff, including ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define and achieve operational goals related to efficiency, quality, profitability, and customer service.
  • Oversee daily lab operations, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Forecast and plan for seasonal workloads, staffing needs, and business growth.
  • Manage budgets, inventory, and equipment maintenance to ensure consistent laboratory performance.
  • Maintain robust training and safety programs for all laboratory personnel.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, turnaround time, and customer experience.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and safety.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Chemistry, Biology, Science, or a related field; equivalent experience in laboratory or agricultural operations will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience, with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory operations, process management, and quality systems.
