Job summary

HealthCare Recruiters International seeks an experienced Lab Manager / General Laboratory Supervisor (GLS) to lead day-to-day operations of a high‑complexity clinical toxicology lab in Las Vegas, NV.

The role oversees workflow, LC-MS/MS instrument performance (Shimadzu LCMS-8050, Sciex 5500), method development/validation, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance (CLIA/COLA/CAP). NV supervisor license sponsorship is available.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years hands-on LC-MS/MS in a clinical toxicology lab.
• Experience developing and validating new methods, analytes, matrices, or instruments.
• Strong knowledge of high-complexity laboratory regulatory requirements.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
• Ability to obtain a Nevada General Laboratory Supervisor license; sponsorship provided.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical toxicology operations, including workflow, turnaround time, quality, and instrument performance.
• Lead method development and validation for new analytes, matrices, and platforms.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize LC-MS/MS instrumentation (Shimadzu LCMS-8050, Sciex 5500).
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, COLA, CAP, QC, proficiency testing, SOP, and documentation requirements.
• Supervise, train, and develop laboratory personnel.
• Collaborate with Medical Director on new test implementation and inspection readiness.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and performance.
• Manage reagents, consumables, vendors, and service relationships.
• Report KPIs, staffing needs, and expansion readiness to leadership.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Lab Manager / General Laboratory Supervisor (GLS) to lead day-to-day operations for a growing, high-complexity clinical toxicology laboratory.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who can oversee laboratory workflow, manage and troubleshoot LC-MS/MS instrumentation, lead method development and validation, supervise staff, and maintain strong regulatory compliance. The lab is expanding its capabilities with an additional LC-MS/MS platform and the launch of oral fluid toxicology testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical toxicology laboratory operations, including workflow, turnaround time, quality, and instrument performance.
• Lead method development and validation for new analytes, matrices, and testing platforms.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize LC-MS/MS instrumentation, including Shimadzu LCMS-8050 and Sciex 5500 platforms.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, COLA, CAP, QC, proficiency testing, SOP, and documentation requirements.
• Supervise, train, and develop laboratory personnel.
• Work closely with the Medical Director on new test implementation, workflow approvals, and inspection readiness.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and laboratory performance.
• Manage reagents, consumables, vendors, and instrument service relationships.
• Report operational KPIs, staffing needs, and expansion readiness to leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in clinical laboratory science, chemistry, biology, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of hands‑on LC-MS/MS experience within a clinical toxicology laboratory.
• Experience developing and validating new methods, analytes, matrices, or instruments.
• Strong knowledge of high‑complexity laboratory regulatory requirements.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
• Ability to obtain a Nevada General Laboratory Supervisor license; sponsorship and support are available.

Preferred Experience

• Oral fluid toxicology method development and validation.
• MLS (ASCP) or similar certification.
• Experience within behavioral health, substance use disorder, pain management, or clinical toxicology laboratories.
• Experience building or managing a small laboratory team.
• $90K–$110K base salary, depending on experience.
