Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required) and 5+ years of Clinical Laboratory Experience.
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (preferred)
  • Epic Beaker Certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise efforts for effective process design, development, and implementation in all aspects of the EHR and clinical decision support software as it related to the laboratory process including all components (from ordering through test resulting).
  • As the liaison, coordinate and collaborate with multiple clinical and technical stakeholders to design and deliver systems which are interoperable with core systems and outside entities, as appropriate.
  • Manage and leverage data from EHR and various technology systems. This includes, but not limited to, providing analytic support to laboratory staff, partner with stakeholders to build out reporting capabilities and uses, develop dashboards to monitor and improve laboratory efficiency from various aspects of practice, e.g., clinical, operational, and financial.
  • Focus on improving workflows through the effective use of technologic solutions. Lead and manage efforts to continually improve clinical information systems.
  • Facilitate governance processes for various technology systems
  • The qualified individual will ensure that ongoing maintenance is in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Subject-matter expert in relative human factors, patient safety, and the use of technology to optimize care delivery processes and effectively communicate patient care delivery processes and effectively communicate patient care activity.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of industry, organizational practices and informatics to effectively improve patient outcomes, laboratory test use process and increase safety and efficiency
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
