Job summary

Baptist Laboratory is seeking a Medical Technologist to supervise the section and personnel, ensuring efficient operation and high-quality results. You will oversee administrative, technical, and educational functions and collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to meet departmental goals.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, 4 years of clinical lab experience, and MT/MLS certification (ASCP/AMT) with appropriate specialization.

Qualifications

• 4 years Healthcare/Medical - Medical/Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience required.
• License/Certification: ASCP AMT certification as Medical Technologist (MT) or MLS required; ASCP or discipline-specific ASCP/AMT certification for non-generalist positions required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise administrative, technical, and educational functions independently, applying principles of clinical laboratory science.
• Implement and assess an QA program according to regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain CAP-compliant operation plans for instruments and materials.

Job description

Perform all functions of the medical technologist and supervise the personnel and operation of the section for effective and efficient operation. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise administrative, technical, and educational functions, independently, demonstrating knowledge and application of theoretical principles of clinical laboratory science.
• Implement and assess the comprehensive quality assurance program according to regulatory agencies' requirements.
• Develop and maintain operational plans for laboratory instruments and management of departmental materials according to College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements.
• Develop and maintain current department policy and procedure, including safety and infection control guidelines, in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards; ensure departmental compliance.
• Demonstrates commitment to personal career growth and competency, including completion of all departmental requirements.
• Communicate and consult with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare personnel
• Completes assigned goals.
