Job summary

The Laboratory Genetics and Genomics fellowship at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is designed for MD or PhD trainees who wish to direct or co-direct a Clinical Molecular Genetics and/or Clinical Cytogenetics laboratory.

Instruction and experience cover diagnostic laboratory genetics with emphasis on heritable disorders, and fellows gain exposure to somatic applications and a broad range of molecular genetic and cytogenetic techniques.

Qualifications

• Open to MD and PhD trainees.

Responsibilities

• Participate in diagnostic laboratory genetics across molecular and cytogenetic techniques.
• Engage in QA, record keeping, budgeting, proficiency testing, inspections and accreditation; interface with clinicians and genetic counselors.
