MainStreet Family Care in Milledgeville, GA is seeking a Laboratory General Supervisor to lead high-complexity real-time PCR testing and other lab procedures that support accurate diagnostics in our growing urgent care network.

You will supervise day-to-day testing, ensure CLIA compliance, document results in the EMR, manage inventory, and collaborate with providers to deliver timely patient care.

Qualifications

  • CLIA-certified high-complexity testing experience required.
  • Two years of clinical lab experience, including molecular/PCR testing.
  • Bachelor's in clinical/medical lab science or medical lab certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CLIA high-complexity real-time PCR testing per protocols.
  • Collect, prepare, process, and analyze specimens.
  • Document results in EMR accurately.
  • Perform quality control, calibration, and routine maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control.
  • Monitor inventory and reagent expiration.
  • Identify and report testing discrepancies or equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with providers and lab staff to support operations.
  • Supervise day-to-day test performance.

Laboratory General Supervisor – Milledgeville, GA

MainStreet Family Care operates over 60 fast-growing urgent care clinics across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. As we continue expanding access to high-quality healthcare in rural communities throughout the southeastern U.S., our mission remains the same: quality care, close to home.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Laboratory General Supervisor to join our clinical team in the Milledgeville, GA area. This role plays a vital part in delivering accurate, timely diagnostic results through high-complexity real-time PCR testing and other laboratory procedures that directly impact patient care.

The Laboratory General Supervisor is responsible for all testing duties, quality standards, and MainStreet Family Care values. This position supports providers and lab techs by producing reliable laboratory results that enable efficient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CLIA high-complexity, real-time PCR testing in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Collect, prepare, process, and analyze patient specimens
  • Accurately document laboratory results in the electronic medical record
  • Perform quality control procedures, calibration, and routine maintenance on laboratory equipment
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
  • Prepare and manage specimens for internal and external testing as needed
  • Monitor laboratory inventory, reagents, and expiration dates
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report testing discrepancies, equipment issues, or quality concerns
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to support efficient operations
  • Providing supervision for day-to-day test performance

Minimum Qualifications
  • Medical laboratory certification, or a Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science that is compliant with CLIA standards.
  • Two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience, including molecular or PCR-based testing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience
  • Experience performing high-complexity real-time PCR testing in a regulated laboratory environment
  • Experience in urgent care, primary care, or high-volume clinical settings
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
  • Proficiency in real-time PCR and molecular diagnostic techniques
  • Knowledge of high-complexity laboratory testing standards and CLIA requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot testing and equipment issues
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Schedule
  • Approximately 30-40 hours per week
  • 10-hour shifts, scheduled across 7 days per week
  • Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Schedule may vary based on operational and testing volume needs
