Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Laboratory Cleaning Mechanic to support the LASSO II contract at Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, FL. This full-time on-site role requires performing precision chemical cleaning, refurbishment, and passivation of aerospace fluid systems and components.

The ideal candidate will have experience in fluid system cleaning, assembly/disassembly, and the use of cleanroom tools and testing instruments, with the ability to follow procedures and drawings in a cleanroom

Qualifications

• Must be able to work from drawings and procedures.
• Experience with precision cleaning of fluid systems or components.
• Proficient with cleanroom tools, equipment, measuring and testing instruments.

Responsibilities

Laboratory Cleaning Mechanic

LOCATION: Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, FL

JOB STATUS: Full-time

TRAVEL: Limited; as needed

Must be US citizen

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Cleaning Mechanic supporting the LASSO II contract at Kennedy Space Center.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Laboratory Cleaning Mechanic responsible for precision chemical cleaning, refurbishment of functional components, decontamination, and passivation of aerospace fluid systems. This fulltime represented position and work will be performed onsite at the Kennedy Space Center.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• High School diploma


• One or more years of experience in precision cleaning of fluid systems or components.


• Extensive knowledge in mechanical and electro‑mechanical fluid component assembly and disassembly; pneumatic, hydrostatic, hydraulic, cryogenic and electrical testing of components.


• Previous experience working from drawings and procedures and the use of cleanroom tools/equipment/measuring and testing instruments.
