Job summary

Astrion is seeking a 2nd Shift Laboratory Cleaning Mechanic to support the LASSO II contract at Kennedy Space Center. This onsite role focuses on precision chemical cleaning, refurbishment of fluid system components, decontamination and passivation in aerospace environments.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of cleaning experience, works from drawings and procedures, and utilizes cleanroom tools and testing instruments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 1+ year of precision cleaning experience.
• Experience with fluid system/component assembly and disassembly (pneumatic, hydraulic, cryogenic, electrical testing).
• Experience reading drawings and procedures; use of cleanroom tools and measuring/testing instruments.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision chemical cleaning, refurbishment, functional testing, decontamination and passivation of fluid systems and components.
• Safely perform all work in compliance with laboratory best practices and local policies and procedures.
• Perform tasks as directed.

Overview

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a 2nd Shift Laboratory Cleaning Mechanic supporting the LASSO II contract at Kennedy Space Center.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Laboratory Cleaning Mechanic responsible for precision chemical cleaning, refurbishment of functional components, decontamination, and passivation of aerospace fluid systems. This fulltime represented position and work will be performed onsite at the Kennedy Space Center.

Required Qualifications / Skills

• High School diploma
• One or more years of experience in precision cleaning of fluid systems or components.
• Extensive knowledge in mechanical and electro-mechanical fluid component assembly and disassembly; pneumatic, hydrostatic, hydraulic, cryogenic and electrical testing of components.
• Previous experience working from drawings and procedures and the use of cleanroom tools/equipment/measuring and testing instruments.
