Position Summary

The Laboratory Pre-Analytics Services Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of processes that occur prior to laboratory testing. This includes patient preparation, specimen collection, identification, preservation, and processing. The assistant also provides general support to both the pre-analytic and analytic laboratory departments through clerical and lab-related tasks to maintain smooth lab operations.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor, sort, and store incoming specimens.
Perform data entry, including patient requisitions, with thorough accuracy checks.
Provide general support functions within the lab.
Take inventory, stock supplies, and place orders as directed by supervisors.
Verify and enter patient demographics, consents, and insurance information from manual requisitions.
Accurately record collection and received times/dates.
Order tests as requested by medical professionals.
