Paycom in Wethersfield, CT is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support the pathology team. You will assist with tissue accessioning, labeling, data entry, and routine slide staining under direct supervision.

Daily duties include preparing reagents, handling specimens, and maintaining proper filing and storage of blocks and slides. The role requires accuracy, organization, and compliance with CLIA and CAP standards.

Qualificações

• Experience with accessioning and labeling tissue samples.
• Ability to process paperwork for accessioning and reporting.
• Ability to prepare reagents for tissue processing and staining.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure proper accessioning and labeling of all tissue samples.
• Assist in cytology lab operations under supervision.
• Prepare reagents for tissue processing and routine slide staining.
• Perform routine H&E staining manually or automatically.
• Distribute slides to pathologists and file blocks and slides.
• Disinfect and maintain a clean workspace; perform routine maintenance of equipment.
• Comply with CLIA and CAP regulations; maintain safety and QA standards.
• Handle specimen pickups as needed.
