• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Basic Phlebotomy or enrolled in a science-related field.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for collection of blood samples using standard techniques.
• Prepares samples for Laboratory testing.
• Performs clerical and Client Service functions in the Laboratory.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for collection of blood samples, through the use of standard venipuncture and microtainer techniques. Prepares samples for Laboratory testing for in house and send out tests. Performs clerical and Client Service functions in the Specimen Processing Area of the Laboratory and throughout the Laboratory as requested.

• Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
• Ability to learn and use the Laboratory Information Systems.
• Performs desk duties, fax results, answers phones, reprint labels, calls and reschedule recollects.
• Ability and willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to work and willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, etc

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Basic Phlebotomy or Student enrolled in a science related field of study.
• BLS required
