NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Part-Time Laboratory Assistant to support our clinical laboratory operations. The role involves specimen management, inventory control, equipment maintenance, and communication with healthcare providers.

Responsibilities include:

1. Maintaining supplies and reagents, ordering additional items as needed.
2. Receiving, storing, and documenting laboratory materials according to policy.
3. Handling specimens, ensuring quality, and communicating with providers about sample requirements.
4. Processing samples for analysis, storage, and disposal.
5. Cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment and work surfaces.
6. Managing logs for temperature, humidity, and equipment status.
7. Assisting with specimen retrieval, test processing, and shipping.
8. Performing blood collection via venipuncture or finger prick.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma with 12 college credits in Chemistry or Biology.
• Laboratory experience handling blood and body fluids.
• Proficiency in computer applications, especially Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication skills.
