Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Laboratory Assistant OBGYN/IVF. Responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and support tasks requiring understanding of embryology. Responsible for providing data to stakeholders related to specimen processing/testing and other clinical lab activities. Uses established protocols to upload information into patient records related to all labs at the fertility center. Works to support embryology lab team, management, patients, cryo-inventory team, lab operations, supply and communication tasks; works under general supervision of lab management. Excellent written and spoken communication skills with ability to interact appropriately with patients, physicians, nursing staff and co-workers. Demonstrated ability to function as a team player.
Job Responsibilities:
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Ability to develop basic formulae for spreadsheets; set up routine computer procedures; Ability to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software. Ability to proofread documents and write clear, concise 1st draft. Knowledge of standard office practices. Ability to multi-task while paying attention to details. Ability to use standard office equipment such as copy machines, multi-line telephones, fax machines.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or equivalent. Excellent written and spoken communication skills with ability to interact appropriately with patients, physicians, nursing staff and co-workers. Empathy and confidence speaking with patients is a must. Demonstrated ability to function as a team player. Time management skills and high level of organization required. 3 weekdays plus Saturday and Sunday; 35 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent written and spoken communication skills with ability to interact appropriately with patients, physicians, nursing staff and co-workers. Demonstrated ability to function as a team player. This position can provide a pathway for appropriate candidates to become embryologists (Requires BS). Associate degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 2 to 3 years of related experience in a lab with admin responsibilities.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $33,141.95 - $54,203.63 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
